In contact with exudate, the 3D foam structure of Biatain ^® Silicone Lite conforms perfectly to the wound bed for superior absorption even under compression (2). The unique 3D foam absorbs exudate vertically and engulfs it within its structure, continuing to retain the natural moisture of the wound to maintain optimal conditions for moist healing. The fluid handling properties of Biatain ^® Silicone ensure control of exudate, minimizing the risk of leaks and maceration.

Composition of the product

Biatain ^® Silicone Lite is a thin, extra flexible and absorbent polyurethane foam dressing with a semipermeable top film, impermeable to bacteria and water, and a delicate silicone adhesive.

Usage

Biatain ^® Silicone Lite is indicated for a wide range of chronic and acute non-exuding or slightly exuding wounds, such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, uninfected diabetic foot ulcers, skin sampling sites, wounds post-operative and traumatic injuries (eg, skin abrasions, lacerations and cuts). It can be used in conjunction with compression therapy and can be left in place for up to 7 days.
