3% Hydrogen Peroxide Polifarma Disinfectant

Hydrogen peroxide, whose scientific name is hydrogen peroxide, is a chemical compound formed by the union of 2 atoms of hydrogen and 2 of oxygen. At room temperature it appears as a colorless, viscous and not very stable liquid. On the market we find it in aqueous solution at different concentrations called "volumes", that is the liters of oxygen that can be produced by a liter of hydrogen peroxide.

Dosage and method of use:

Hydrogen peroxide is a substance that can be used in many areas, both for personal care and for the home environment.

• Teeth care: excellent remedy as a whitener. In fact, 1-2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide can be used as a mouthwash at a concentration of 3% which corresponds to 10 volumes. It can be used every day before brushing your teeth: a couple of cooking spoons are enough to keep in the mouth for 1-2 minutes and then rinse well with water. Furthermore, being a good disinfectant, it is able to kill microorganisms thanks to a chemical process known as “oxidation” thanks to which it can attack biological molecules. For this reason it is also effective against gingivitis and canker sores. It can also be used to disinfect the toothbrush simply by immersing it in a glass with hydrogen peroxide diluted with normal water. This will eliminate all the microorganisms that remain on the toothbrush after normal oral cleaning.

• Disinfectant for the skin: being an effective bactericide, hydrogen peroxide is widely used in the disinfection of wounds, ulcers, bruises (also in case of fingertip, herpes, navel fall in the newborn, balanitis, ingrown nail, mosquito bites) .

• Against pimples: the disinfectant action of hydrogen peroxide can also be used to fight acne and pimples. It is effective if applied only on the rash where germs are present, in fact these are killed and better oxygenation of the pores is guaranteed so as to prevent the onset of other pimples.

• For foot care: with a simple foot bath you will eliminate the fungi that are the cause of bad foot odor. Furthermore, hydrogen peroxide can be a valuable aid in the treatment of onychomycosis (infection of the nail caused by a fungus that makes it yellowish and thicker). In this case it is useful to take foot baths with hydrogen peroxide and bicarbonate.

• For cleaning the ears: practical remedy, to be repeated once a week, to thoroughly clean the ear canal and free it from the accumulation of ear wax. Hydrogen peroxide in 3% solution must be mixed with water. At this point it will be necessary to moisten a cotton swab and drop a few drops of the solution into the ear so that it acts on the earwax plug and makes it come out.

The harmful effects of hydrogen peroxide mainly occur following its improper use. Always remember to use the diluted product as it is still an abrasive and corrosive agent.
