It has the advantage of being ecological because it is not powered by batteries, but contains a mercury-free alloy called Galistan, that is an alloy of Gallium, Indium and Tin which appears as a fluid metal at room temperature with characteristics similar to mercury as regards the expansion as the temperature changes.
It is not toxic, therefore, it is suitable for children and is environmentally friendly, so much so that it can be disposed of with normal household waste. Furthermore, it is very safe because in case of breakage and accidental ingestion it is not absorbed by the body, thus avoiding the danger of poisoning.
