ACIDIF Tablets - L-Methionine and Cranberry

Acidif is a food supplement that helps to promote the correct functionality of the urinary system by contracting the development and proliferation of bacteria which can create important problems in the urinary system.

How the individual components of Acidif tablets work

L-Methionine
L-Methionine is part of the essential amino acids and, as such, is an important constituent of the human body. L-Methionine, which our body is unable to produce, but must be introduced from the outside, is the only essential amino acid that contains sulfur in its formula. The availability of L-Methionine (as a sulfur donor) in sufficient quantity is the necessary condition for the biosynthesis of cysteine, a sulphured amino acid. A large number of Gram-negative bacteria is able to alkalize the urine by enzymatic degradation of urea, thus determining favorable growth conditions. The maintenance of a physiological pH obtained by the action of L-methionine, manages to create unfavorable conditions for bacterial colonization.

Cranberry
Recent studies have focused on the antibacterial effects of Canadian cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon - cranberry) aimed at the adhesion of some bacteria to the urinary epithelium. Women suffering from recurrent urinary infections appear to be particularly sensitive to the adhesion of uropathogenic bacteria. The uropathogenic strains rely on the adhesion of type P fimbriae to allow colonization and the related infectious process. According to these studies, cranberry proanthocyanidins prevent the adhesion of P-type fimbriae of E. coli uropathogenic strains.

ACIDIF comes in retard tablets with gradual release and with a gastroprotective coating. This optimizes tolerability and guarantees a constant release of its components over time.

Dosage and intake of Acidif tablets

Very simple just take one 875 mg tablet which contains 400 mg. of L-Methionine and 40 mg. of concentrated extract of Canadian cranberry twice a day, divided as follows, 1 tablet in the evening before bedtime and 1 tablet in the morning upon waking up, accompanied with 1 glass of water at room temperature drunk in small sips.

Packaging and storage
Acidif tablets is sold in a box of 30 slow release retard tablets, it is important to store the product in a cool place away from sources of heat and humidity.

L-Methionine, Anti-caking agents: microcrystalline cellulose, hydrogenated and non-hydrogenated vegetable oils, silicon dioxide, talc, polydextrose. Calcium Phosphate. Maltodextrin.
