Antimicrobial Barrier with Silver Nanocrystals


Indications:
antimicrobial barrier for partial or full thickness wounds such as pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, burns, sampling and skin grafting sites.
Can be used on infected wounds. In this case, the infection should be monitored and treated according to the local clinical protocol in use.

How to use:
remove from package and moisten dressing with sterile water (do not use saline solution). Allow the dressing to drain for approximately 2 minutes on a sterile field. If necessary, cut the dressing into the appropriate shape and size.
Apply the dressing with the blue side in contact with the wound.
Apply secondary dressing and, if necessary, moisten to maintain a moist environment.
To achieve atraumatic removal, wet the dressing.
Reapply Acticoat 7 as per the therapeutic program.

Characteristics:
the nanocrystalline silver coating rapidly kills a broad spectrum of bacteria and is effective for up to 7 days. Composed of five layers: two internal absorbent cores sandwiched between three silver coated non-adherent polyethylene nets. Nanocrystalline silver protects the wound from bacterial contamination, while internal cores help maintain the optimal moist environment for wound healing.
Easy to apply and to remove, it can be cut to conform to the lesion to be treated.

Warnings:
do not use on patients with known sensitivity to silver.
Do not use on patients who are to undergo NMR (magnetic resonance imaging).
For external use.
Not compatible with fat-based products (such as paraffins).
Avoid contact with electrodes and conductive gels during electrical measurements e.g. EEG and ECG.
Do not use if the product appears to have an uneven color.
