Description
Irrigation solution consisting of water with sea salt (3%) and NaOCl (0.2%).
NaOCl and sea salt reduce pathogens typically found in wounds, but without damaging the tissue.
The oxidizing effect of NaOCl and the hypertonic sea salt solution is also responsible for the neutralization of wound odors.
The basic pH of ActiMaris Forte irrigation solution also promotes the controlled release of oxygen through the production of OH-ions (as part of a naturally balanced redox system).
Sea salt contains sodium chloride as its main ingredient (NaCl = 98%), as well as 2% of other sea salts. The increased salinity of ActiMaris Forte irrigation solution in turn ensures an excellent hyperosmotic effect so that peripheral swelling subsides quickly.
It is indicated: for cleaning, humidification, decontamination, biofilm resolution, swelling and physiological debridement, to create an optimal "microenvironment" for acute mechanical wounds (skin lacerations, bites, cuts, abrasions, tears and bruises) and postoperative wounds; chronic wounds (bedsores, arteriovenous ulcers, diabetic ulcer); foul-smelling necrotic wounds and tumors also in the cavity (hollow areas); sunburn and chemical burns (1st to 3rd degree burns); entrance area of urological catheters and PEGe drainage tubes; venous ulcers.
ActiMaris Forte irrigation solution is indicated for long-term (> 24 h) and repeated use during dressing changes, even in the presence of irritated and mucous skin. The application is almost painless and is generally well tolerated by allergy sufferers. Inhibition of granulation or re-epithelialization is not to be feared.

How to use
Apply at room temperature (not above 30 ° C). For irrigation of wounds that tend to cause acute pain, it is suggested to warm the necessary amount in a bowl before use bringing it to room temperature (the irrigation solution should not be heated to more than 30 ° C) in order to increase the sensation of Welfare.
Before using ActiMaris Forte irrigation solution, it is recommended to irrigate and clean wounds with ActiMaris Sensitive irrigation solution to remove dirt and easily removable deposits.
Then we will move on to deep cleaning and odor reduction using ActiMaris Forte irrigation solution; to this end, inert bandages or dressings soaked with the irrigation solution will be applied.
The application should preferably be performed with the classic wet / dry phase technique ("Moist Balance").
The recommended application time in the wet phase in the case of very fibrinous, opurulent, infected or strongly malodorous wounds is 5-10 minutes.
The duration and frequency of application must be adapted to the conditions of each wound. The use of the irrigation solution is not limited in time and frequency.
Whether deposits and necrosis can be removed mechanically depends on the condition of the wound. In case of thick and strongly adherent fibrinous or necrotic deposits to the wound, rehabilitation / debridement surgery is essentially recommended.
After the wound condition improves, it is recommended to continue cleaning the wounds with ActiMaris Sensitive Wash Solution until the wound is visually clean.
The use of ActiMaris Sensitive irrigation solution is recommended for patients with acute or sensitive wounds.
