ActiMaris
Wound Gel
Description
ActiMaris wound gel consisting of ionized alkaline sea water with sea salt (3%), NaOCl (0.2%) and active oxygen ( 1 O 2 ) plus-lithium-magnesium-sodium-silicate.
It acts nascent in contact with the mucosa, with the skin and inside the wound. Active oxygen, sodium hypochlorite and sea salt eliminate the pathogenic agents typical of pain, without however damaging the tissue.
The oxidizing effect of singlet oxygen ( 1 O 2 ) and hypertonic sea salt water is also responsible for neutralizing the odors of the wound.
The basic pH of the gel, supported by the supply of OH-ions (as part of the naturally balanced redox system), also controls the release of oxygen.
Sea salt contains sodium chloride as its main ingredient (NaCl = 98%), as well as 2% of other sea salts.
The increased salinity of the gel, in turn, ensures an excellent hyperosmotic effect so that peripheral swelling subsides quickly.
It is indicated: for cleaning, humidification, decontamination, biofilm resolution, swelling and physiological debridement, to create an optimal "microenvironment" for acute mechanical wounds (skin lacerations, bites, cuts, abrasions, tears and bruises) and postoperative wounds; chronic wounds (bedsores, arteriovenous ulcers, diabetic ulcer); necrosis, malodorous and tumorous wounds even in the cavity (hollow areas); sunburn and chemical burns (1st to 3rd degree burns); entrance area for urological catheters and PEG tubes and drainage; venous ulcers.
ActiMaris Wound Gel is ideal for long-term (> 24 h) and repeated use during dressing changes, even in the presence of irritated and / or mucous skin. The application is painless and is generally well tolerated by allergy sufferers. Inhibition of granulation tissue or re-epithelialization is not to be feared. Dermatologically tested.
How to use
ActiMaris Wound Gel should be applied at room temperature.
Prior to application, the wound gel can be warmed to body temperature prior to use and the wound should be cleaned with ActiMaris irrigation solution (Forte or Sensitive).
The wound gel is then freely applied to the wound and covered with an inert compression, gauze, etc. The duration and frequency of application must be adapted to the conditions of each individual wound and must be carried out until all deposits and necrosis are easily removed and the wound is visually clean.
Depending on the condition of the wound, the bandage can be varied according to the indications and phases, every 2 or 3 days. In the case of non-infected wounds, necrosis and dressings can be removed mechanically depending on the condition of the wound.
In cases where bandages are difficult to remove, it is recommended to moisturize the wounds with ActiMaris irrigation solution (Forte or Sensitive) for at least 5 minutes, until it is not possible to remove the bandages without the wound surface being traumatized.
Primary surgical therapy is recommended in cases of strongly adhering fibrinous or necrotic deposits on the wound.
For wound cleansing, ActiMaris Wound Gel can be combined with inert dressings or other wound dressings.
Components
Sea salt (Sal maris 3%), water, lithium magnesium sodium silicate, sodium oxychloride (NaOCl 0.2%).
