• Black currant: anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and anti-allergic action, linked to the cortison-like mechanism of proanthocyanidins, which causes a direct stimulus on the adrenal cortex with consequent increased production of adrenal steroids; therefore it is indicated in case of mild or moderate skin and respiratory allergies (urticaria from drugs or food and pollinosis), allergic or inflammatory skin diseases such as dry and wet itchy dermatitis, inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract such as pharyngotonsillitis, rhinosinusitis, ear infections and tracheitis, inflammatory-degenerative joint diseases such as rheumatism and osteoarthritis in the initial phase, convalescence after surgery, hospitalization or trauma, states of psychophysical debilitation such as important adaptive stresses.
