Agnocasto Arcangea Food Supplement

Chaste tree: shrub with erect stem, with brown bark and whitish and flexible branches. The leaves are opposite, palmate, formed by 5 whole dark green leaflets, with a clear and tomentose underside. The flowers are purple or white, collected in terminal spike racemes. The fruit is a black drupe containing one seed per loggia.

It is widespread in the Mediterranean area, along rivers and in coastal areas.

Active substances

The main constituents are iridoid glycosides; Flavonoids; Diterpenes; Alkaloids; there is also an essential oil, a bitter principle and unsaturated gaseous acids.

Contraindications

In pregnancy, during lactation and in children up to 12 years.

Notes: due to its hormonal action, it can interfere with oral contraceptives, and in hormone replacement therapy, also due to its dopaminergic agonist action, it can interfere with antiparkinsonian drugs and with drugs that antagonize dopamine.
