Agpeg what it is for

Agpeg is a product based on Macrogol 3350 and Simethicone used for bowel cleansing.

Removal of solid debris in the colon is essential in preparation for endoscopic, radiological and ultrasound examinations for an accurate diagnosis.

Agpeg plus esse also contains simethicone which, thanks to its anti-foaming action, acts in the absorption of gastrointestinal gas associated with constipation.

Recommended doses and instructions for use for Agpeg

For a complete cleansing of the intestine, necessary for the preparation for some diagnostic tests (endoscopic or radiological examinations on the large intestine, abdominal ultrasound) and in other clinical conditions, scrupulously follow the information provided by the center where the endoscopic examination is carried out , which they usually provide for a controlled dietary regime in the days preceding the exam.
The following doses apply, unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor.
For the extemporaneous preparation of the oral suspension:

1. pour the contents of 2 sachets into 1 L of water, shake well and drink the homogeneous suspension within 1-2 hours, possibly taking 250 ml of suspension every 10-15 minutes;
2. integrate with an additional 500 ml (half a liter) of water until a total of 1.5 L is taken (1 L of Agpeg plus esse and 500 ml of water);
3. after about 1 hour, repeat the preparation with 2 other sachets and take the second liter of suspension (and the additional 500 ml of water) in the same way.

Contraindications of Agpeg

Do not take the product in case of:

• known hypersensitivity to the product
• intestinal stricture
• dynamic ileus
• acute or severe colitis
• toxic megacolon
• intestinal perforation
• gastric stasis
• inflammatory bowel disease (e.g. Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis)
• patients weighing less than 20 kg or less than 2 years of age

Agpeg in pregnancy and lactation

There is no experience of taking it during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The product should only be taken on the advice of a doctor.

Interaction The product can reduce the time of stay in the intestine and therefore the absorption of drugs administered simultaneously orally. Therefore, avoid ingesting them together: after taking a medicine, leave an interval of at least 2 hours before taking Agpeg plus esse. If you are taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet drugs or drugs for diabetes, consult your doctor or the endoscopy center for a possible change in dosage.
