VITAMINS AND MINERALS
Vitamins are essential micronutrients for humans and play a fundamental role in the regular development of physiological processes. It is necessary to introduce the right amount of vitamins daily with the diet as the human body is unable to synthesize them. Among the main functions, vitamins strengthen the immune system, slow down the aging processes and have a preventive effect on the damage of the central nervous system in the embryo and in the child. Mineral salts perform essential functions for human life, participate in cellular processes such as the formation of teeth and bones, are involved in the regulation of the hydrosaline balance, in the activation of numerous metabolic cycles and are determining factors for growth and development of tissues and organs. Iron, folate, zinc, magnesium and vitamins B12 and D are involved in the cell division process. Iron, folate, magnesium and vitamins B2, B3, B6, B5, B12 and C contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Iron, folate, zinc and vitamins B6, B12, C and D contribute to the normal function of the immune system. Folate also contributes to the growth of maternal tissues in pregnancy.

The supplementary intake of folic acid increases the state of maternal folate. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for developing neural tube defects in the fetus. The beneficial effect is obtained with a supplementary daily intake of folic acid of 400 μg for at least one month before and up to three months after conception.

Furthermore, Vitamin B2 contributes to normal iron metabolism, and Vitamin C increases iron absorption. Zinc also contributes to normal DNA synthesis. In particular situations, such as in case of diarrhea, after intense physical activity, following excessive sweating due to heat or in certain periods of life such as during pregnancy or in childhood, the need for mineral salts and vitamins increases and it is important to integration with the diet to restore and maintain adequate levels of micronutrients essential for the well-being of the organism and to prevent the onset of disorders related to a deficiency.

WHAT IS THE PHYSIOLOGICAL ROLE OF THE COMPONENTS OF OVERSAL GROWTH?

MAGNESIUM
Magnesium is an essential mineral in human nutrition and is involved in a large number of biological functions.
It is required for all major metabolic processes, such as cellular energy production, protein synthesis, and plays a crucial role in muscle contraction, nerve conduction and regulation of muscle tone.
Magnesium deficiency can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, generalized muscle spasticity, tremors, cardiac arrhythmias, changes in blood chemistry, muscle cramps, hypertension. Magnesium deficiency has also been associated with atrial and ventricular fibrillation, tachycardia and severe disorders of the cardiovascular system.
During pregnancy in particular, the intake of Magnesium prevents the onset of cramps, reduces the risk of high blood pressure and regulates uterine contractions by modulating muscle tone. It also helps in case of tiredness and weakness.

ZINC
Zinc plays important roles in the biological system of the organism, both structural and regulatory of enzymatic reactions. It is also a powerful antioxidant, protects biological membranes from oxidizing agents and has immunomodulatory activity.
Zinc is essential for the growth and development of the organism, for sexual maturation and reproduction, for adaptation to night vision, for olfactory and gustatory activities, for the accumulation and release of insulin. It is also important for skin appendages (skin, hair, nails): Zinc is in fact often deficient in dermatitis. Infants, children, the elderly and pregnant women are often at risk of zinc deficiency. In children, the right amount of Zinc is essential for growth. Deficiency can cause growth retardation, including at the neuronal level, and an increased susceptibility to infections. An adequate supply of zinc is also necessary during pregnancy to avoid the onset of neuronal tube defects in the fetus and to reduce the risk of premature birth.

SUNACTIVE® FE- Highly bioavailable microencapsulated iron
Sunactive® Fe is a special microencapsulated iron with high bioavailability. Totally tasteless, it does not cause a feeling of heaviness in the stomach, it is highly digestible and has no unpleasant aftertaste when taken. Iron is the main oxygen carrier in the blood and the constituent of numerous metallo-enzymes. Its main function is to combine with proteins and copper in the formation of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin transports oxygen through the blood, from the lungs to the tissues, in this way Iron determines the quality of the blood and increases resistance to stress and disease, strengthens the immune system, increases energy production and promotes growth in children. . Iron is also necessary for the formation of myoglobin present in muscle tissues. Myoglobin is an oxygen carrier and supplies muscle cells with the oxygen needed for muscle contraction. Iron is also a cofactor in the synthesis of neurotransmitters that regulate behavior (serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline). An iron deficiency in pediatric age can cause negative functional and structural changes in the brain. Therefore, an adequate intake of Iron is positively associated with the indices of psychointellective growth and development. During pregnancy, the need for iron is significantly increased. Iron deficiency in pregnant women is quite common, especially in the second and third trimester as the fetus requires an abundance of it for development. Supplementation is therefore necessary to prevent or reduce the risk of anemia in the mother.

FOLATE
Folate or vitamin B9 participates in numerous biological processes such as the synthesis of DNA, RNA and proteins. It is required for DNA replication and repair, for the maintenance of genome integrity and is involved in the regulation of gene expression. It also has neuroprotective activity. Low folate concentrations are often associated with cognitive deficits. Folate intake becomes particularly important during pregnancy when the need for this vitamin increases. Taking folate during pregnancy prevents the onset of central nervous system malformations in the fetus: spina bifida (failure to close the neural tube, with alterations in the spinal cord) and anencephaly (incomplete brain development).

C VITAMIN
Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is a water-soluble vitamin that performs numerous actions in the body, the most important of which is that of being a very powerful antioxidant. It also has an immunomodulating and protective action for eyesight and airways. Vitamin C is also involved in the modulation of iron absorption, transport and storage. Specifically, it contributes to the intestinal absorption of iron and to the deposition of iron in the cells. The association of Iron and Vitamin C is therefore important as the latter improves the bioavailability of the mineral.

VITAMIN COMPLEX OF GROUP B
It contributes to the efficiency of energy metabolism and helps transform the nutrients contained in food into energy.

VITAMIN D
Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption / utilization of calcium and phosphorus and to the maintenance of normal blood calcium levels. Vitamin D also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, the maintenance of normal muscle function and the normal function of the immune system. Vitamin D is involved in the cell division process.
