Gel for scars

Professional Gel with the highest concentration of active substances for the prevention and aesthetic treatment of keloids, visible scars and burns.

Mechanism of action:
• It reduces the cohesive forces of damaged cells and promotes their detachment. The scar returns to its initial stage.
• Increase in the cellular turnover rate of scar skin. Formation of new skin with attenuation of imperfections.
• Increased circulation and vascularization in the damaged area; anti-inflammatory, decongestant effect.
• It inhibits the overproduction of collagen fibers in keloids.
• Forms a thin protective film on the sensitive tissue that stimulates the penetration of the active ingredients into the deeper layers of the epidermis.

The different components of the gel act in a complementary way, mutually reinforcing each other. The gel gives a pleasant sense of freshness and relieves itching.

Functionality of the active substances:
• The extract of Allium Cepa is obtained from the onion. It has an anti-inflammatory, decongestant, bactericidal action and inhibits the overproduction of collagen fibers.
• Allantoin in high concentrations (1-5%) has an exfoliating action and is able to promote cell proliferation by attenuating skin imperfections. Promotes the healing process and calms irritation. (Clinical study of the University of Milan.)
• Escin is a powerful anti-inflammatory capable of reducing vascular permeability with a subsequent detumefying effect. For aescin, absorption through the skin has been demonstrated with consequent promotion of the vascularization of the damaged area.
• Glycolic acid in low concentrations (less than 10%) promotes skin hydration. Its activity is linked to the ability to reduce the forces of cohesion between the corneocytes with a consequent increase in the speed of cellular turn-over which produces an increase in the activity of fibroblasts and in the production of collagen and elastin.
• Urea has keratolytic properties, as it promotes the detachment of superficial dead cells and consequently skin regeneration, leaving the skin soft and smooth. It is also used to stimulate skin regeneration and restore the skin's "barrier" functions.

Therapeutic indications:
A gel with these characteristics has established itself for years around the world for its proven effectiveness in the local treatment of visible scars that restrict movement. The gel is indicated both for preventive purposes for the treatment of newly formed scars, and for the treatment of long-standing scars.
Examples: skin trauma, surgery, laser, cesarean, piercing, tattoo, burn, acne lesion, vaccination, chicken pox, etc. Following a hematoma, a wound infection, the presence of foreign bodies in the skin or reduced elasticity of the skin (stretch marks).
The treatment requires from the patient a good dose of constancy, persistence and collaboration. Patience and perseverance of the patient are rewarded by positive results as regards the aesthetic and functional aspect (mobility). In some cases, applying the gel even allows you to avoid corrective surgeries and transplants. In most cases, however, it takes a few months of treatment before significant improvements are achieved.

How to use:
1. Treatment should be started as soon as possible to promote healing. The application of the gel can begin as early as a few days after the wound is closed, eight to ten days after surgery or once the sutures have been removed. The results are all the more evident the sooner the treatment is started.
2. Before applying the gel, the skin should be slightly moistened to ensure optimal absorption of the active ingredients.
3. Recent scars: Apply a very thin layer of gel to new and sensitive tissue 3 times a day. Gently massage with your fingertip, exerting light pressure along the scar until completely absorbed.
4. Long-standing scarring (over a year): Apply 3 times a day to scar tissue that has hardened over time. Massage lightly. To enhance the action of the gel it is recommended to bandage the scar overnight. Bandaging is especially recommended when dealing with a large scar. First soften the scar tissue with warm compresses, then apply a very thin layer of gel. Massage lightly to let the gel penetrate and then cover the affected area with aluminum foil for food. Bandage and let the gel work overnight. For small scars, simply applying a breathable patch.
5. Wear the dressing for as long as possible (ideally around the clock).
6. The treatment must be followed for at least 3 months, and until you no longer observe any effect.

Warnings: Being a preparation for topical applications, its use must be exclusively external. The prolonged use of products for topical use can give rise to sensitization phenomena. Keep out of reach of children.

Contraindications: Individual hypersensitivity ascertained to one or more components. The gel leaves no traces on the skin and is well tolerated for long periods even by the most sensitive skin. In pregnancy and lactation there are no obvious contraindications, however it is considered appropriate to exclude the use of the product in the first three months of pregnancy.
