Highly Absorbent

The unique structure of ALLEVYN Tracheostomy allows it to absorb a moderate to high amount of fluids. This helps keep the skin surrounding the tracheostomy in optimal condition and thus prevents maceration. The high absorption capacity allows the dressing to remain in place for up to seven days, with less frequent changes and therefore a cheaper and more comfortable treatment for the patient.

Not adherent

The advanced design of the ALLEVYN Tracheostomy minimizes adherence to both the peristomal skin and the endotracheal cannula, reducing patient trauma during application and removal.
Easy to apply and remove: the ALLEVYN Tracheostomy “lock” opening allows direct application and fits perfectly around the cannula. The dressing can, if necessary, be cut to the most appropriate size. Removal is also easy and painless, and does not cause any disturbance to the patient.

Soft and comfortable

The presence of a soft and foamy intermediate layer offers considerable comfort and safety for the patient. The intrinsic resistance of ALLEVYN Tracheostomy allows it to be handled remarkably. Furthermore, since Allevyn Tracheostomy is not made up of woven fibers, the problem of "fraying", common to traditional dressings, is solved.
Reduces the risk of bacterial contamination or penetration of external liquids: the outermost layer of ALLEVYN Tracheostomy acts as a bacterial barrier and therefore contributes to the prevention of bacterial contamination. It also acts as a barrier against liquids: in this way it prevents the leakage of absorbed liquid from the front of the dressing, allowing for clean and safe absorption, providing a clean and dry surface of the dressing.
