ACTIVE PRINCIPLES
Mountain pine oil
In the literature there is ample evidence of how the Alpha Pinene and Beta Pinene contained within the Mugo Pine oil perform a function of stimulating the microcirculation. Clinical studies also show how the presence of Delta 3carene is able to improve tissue oxygenation where necessary.
Salicylic acid
The healing properties of salicylic acid were known since ancient times so much so that the substance was extracted from the willow plant, from which the name derives. Since the nineteenth century, extracts of salicin, a glycoside formed by glucose and salicylic acid, have been used in medicine as an anti-inflammatory in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
Comfrey
The comfrey is used for external use to exploit its anti-inflammatory properties. The plant drug used in this case is obtained not only from the roots, but also from the leaves, indicated by a specific monograph of the German commission (1990) for the treatment of bruises, tears and sprains. The root can also be prescribed for external use, in reduced doses and for small surfaces, for the topical treatment of fissures in relation to its allantoin content.
Rosemary oil
(Rosmarinus officinalis,) is a shrub belonging to the Lamiaceae family. Originally from Europe, Asia and Africa, and now spontaneous in the Mediterranean area. It is also known in Italy by the vulgar name of Ramerino or Ramerino; the name of the genus comes from the Latin words ros (dew) and maris (of the sea). The beneficial properties of Rosemary are mainly due to the active ingredients contained in its essential oil, which is also responsible for the intense perfume that distinguishes it. In addition, it is rich in other important chemical constituents, including terpene derivatives and flavonoids, which together contribute to making Rosemary a plant of extraordinary therapeutic efficacy. Rosemary allows to obtain good results in the treatment of rheumatic and muscular affections, even in case of sprains, in states of muscular hypotonia in general and in forms of gout. Acts as an antispasmodic and pain reliever. It exerts a stimulating and fortifying action on the organism.
Arnica
(Arnica montana L) is a medicinal herb of the Asteraceae family, glandular, perennial, with an erect and moderately robust stem, 20 - 60 cm high, with large orange-yellow flower heads with characteristic "disheveled" petals and a pleasant aromatic odor . " The inflorescences contain a rich mixture of substances, which gives arnica-based preparations, therapeutic properties known and recognized over the years. In vitro and in vivo studies and experiments have made it possible to identify many of these substances and their specific properties. The main constituents of arnica include:
SESQUITERPENIC LATTONS which give the mixture effects: anti-inflammatory, as they specifically inhibit some cellular mediators of inflammation, antimicrobials, found on different species of fungi and bacteria, antirheumatic and antiarthritic analgesics stimulating the immune system.
FLAVONOIDS, antioxidants and anti-inflammatories.
TRITERPENIC ALCOHOLS, with antimicrobial and antifungal activity.
CUMARINE, activators of local circulation
DERIVATIVES OF CAFFEIC ACID, with antioxidant activity.
Camphor is absorbed quickly through the skin, produces a cooling sensation similar to that of menthol, and acts as a mild local anesthetic and antimicrobial substance. and also known for its revulsive-rubefacient and local analgesic activity
