DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS
The product is a buffered physiological solution containing 2.5% cross-linked hyaluronic acid with notable viscoelastic properties.
Sodium hyaluronate represents a fundamental component of the synovial fluid, being responsible for its particular viscoelastic properties.
Almaflex PLUS
Pack of 1 disposable pre-filled syringe (75 mg of cross-linked hyaluronic acid in 3ml of buffered physiological saline solution). Syringe sterilized with moist heat.
COMPOSITION
Main component: Cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid.
OTHER COMPONENTS
Sodium chloride, Phosphate buffer, water for solutions for injections.
INDICATIONS
Synovial fluid substitute, suitable for restoring the physiological and hereological properties of compromised joints, in the presence of painful states or reduced mobility, due to degenerative or post-traumatic conditions.
DOSAGE AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Infiltrate 3 ml of product intra-articularly every 6 months, unless otherwise advised by the doctor and according to the patient's condition.
According to the doctor's opinion and the patient's health conditions, it is possible to treat multiple joints at the same time.
METHOD OF USE
Aspirate any joint effusion before injecting the product. Remove the cap from the syringe paying particular attention to avoid contact with the opening. Insert an appropriately sized needle (18 to 22 G) screwing it in tightly to ensure a tight seal and prevent solution leakage.
Inject the device only inside the synovial space, at room temperature and under strict aseptic conditions.
WARNINGS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use after the expiry date shown on the package.
Do not use if the packaging is open or damaged.
The area where the injection is given must be on healthy skin.
Do not inject vascularly.
Do not inject into the knee joint in the presence of venous or lymphatic stasis of the limb.
Do not inject outside the joint cavity, into the synovial tissue or joint capsule.
Do not administer in the presence of heavy intra-articular effusions.
The product must not be injected in the presence of infections, inflammation or skin conditions in the area to be treated.
After the intra-articular injection, recommend the patient to avoid all intense physical activities and to resume normal activities only after a few days.
The contents of the pre-filled syringe are sterile.
The outer surface of the syringe is not sterile.
Do not sterilize again. The device is disposable.
Store at temperatures below 28°C and away from heat sources. Do not freeze.
Once opened, the device must be used immediately and discarded after use.
Keep out of reach of children.
SIDE EFFECTS
Extra-articular infiltration can locally cause side effects.
Symptoms such as pain, sensation of heat, redness or swelling may occur at the injection site. In this case, applying ice to the treated joint is useful. These symptoms under normal conditions disappear after a short time.
The doctor must ensure that patients inform him of any side effects that occur after treatment.
