CALCULOSIS OF THE URINARY TRACT

Urinary tract stones (urolithiasis) is a pathological condition characterized by the presence of stones that can affect the urinary tract at several levels: calyxes, pelvis, ureter, bladder and urethra. They usually form in the kidney and can subsequently migrate to the ureter where, by hindering the outflow of urine, they trigger renal colic. The pain of renal colic suddenly arises in the lumbar region and can radiate towards the genitals. It can be associated with disturbances in urination, nausea and / or vomiting and haematuria (presence of blood in the urine); sometimes there may be a high fever preceded by shivering.

The main risk factors that favor the onset of urolithiasis can be schematically divided into:

• Dietary factors: low water intake, abuse of animal proteins, high consumption of calcium and sodium;
• Non-dietary factors: family history, obesity, specific diseases (primary hyperparathyroidism, renal tubular acidosis, hyperoxaluria, Crohn's disease, gout).

The stones can have a different mineral structure: calcium oxalate (about 65%), uric acid, monoammonium urate, carboxyapatite.

How to use

We recommend taking 1 or 2 tablets a day.
