It is an essential amino acid that plays a detoxifying role by cleaning the accumulation of ammonia resulting from the deamination process of adenosine monophosphate, it is useful in the treatment of atherosclerosis and in preventing cardiovascular risk.It inhibits platelet aggregation and promotes the dilation of vessels by increasing the production of nitric oxide thus helping to avoid the formation of atherosclerotic plaque. It stimulates the release of GH (growth hormone) from the pituitary gland with a great anti-aging effect. It helps in the synthesis ofproline, therefore it collaborates in the function (vitamin C, lysine, proline) of the synthesis of collagen.
