Apolact Nasale TDC - Medical Device

The medical device APOLACT NASALE SPRAY TDC is a solution containing a mixture of apolactoferrin and lactoferrin in liposomes with sorbitol specially designed for hygiene, hydration and protection of the nasal cavity.

• Liposomes are lipid spheres that allow the protection and subsequent release of Apo-lactoferrin, protecting it from denaturation and making it more bioavailable.
• Lactoferrin is an iron-chelating glycoprotein, naturally present in the secretions of the respiratory system and is an important component of the innate immune system. It also offers the human body the first defense against a wide range of pathogens such as viruses and bacteria. The antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties of lactoferrin are largely due to its ability to bind free iron Fe3 +, an essential cofactor for microbial growth and for the production of free radicals which are the triggering cause of inflammatory processes. The antiviral effect of lactoferrin is related to its ability to bind to plasma membrane glycosaminoglycans, preventing virus entry and stopping infection in the bud.
• Apolactoferrin (iron-free form of lactoferrin) is more active than lactoferrin itself (5 times) since the bond with iron occurs in the open form of apoprotein, allowing easier access to Fe³ + ions.

Composition

Mixture of apolactoferrin and lactoferrin in liposomes, sorbitol, sodium chloride, EDTA, monobasic sodium phosphate, dibasic sodium phosphate, purified water.

Indications

Aqueous solution useful for hygiene, hydration and drainage of the nasal cavities and for the protection of the nasal mucosa.

How to use

Shake well before use. We recommend 2 sprays per nostril 2-3 times a day. Slightly bend the head forward and apply the product in the affected nostril, inhale keeping the nostril closed with a finger that will not receive the application. Each delivery is equivalent to approximately 0.1ml of solution. After each use, wash the spray nozzle thoroughly with running water and reattach the protective cap.

Warnings and precautions for use

In women, pregnant and lactating women, and children it is advisable to consult your doctor before use. The simultaneous use of similar products may preclude the efficacy and safety of the device. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the product if the package is not intact. Do not use the product after the expiration date. The expiry date refers to the intact and correctly stored product. The use, especially if prolonged, could give rise to sensitization phenomena; if this occurs, stop treatment and consult your doctor. It is important to report any undesirable effects not described in this package leaflet to your doctor or pharmacist. Lactoferrin is a protein extracted from cow's milk and therefore it is not recommended for use in case of allergy to milk proteins. External use.
