Vitamin B12 , or cobalamin, is involved in numerous functions that are fundamental for us, including: the formation and maturation of red blood cells, the metabolism of fatty acids, amino acids and nucleic acids and the synthesis of DNA.

It belongs to the class of water-soluble vitamins; the body cannot store large quantities of it, therefore it is necessary to constantly take it through food.
