Dressing that combines the benefits of hydrocolloid technology with the effectiveness of the exclusive Hydrofiber® technology with silver ions, for the management of serum-blood exudate.

AQUACEL ^TM Ag Surgical is a sterile dressing for surgical wound with antimicrobial activity consisting of 3 layers

• The internal pad, to be placed in direct contact with the suture line, is made of non-woven fabric containing Hydrofiber® Technology combined with silver ions. Thanks to its peculiar texture, the Hydrofiber® pad micro-conforms to the suture line and, if present, vertically absorbs the exudate, retaining it and instantly gelling. This exudate management process ensures the optimal environment necessary for the tissue repair process and prevents the risk of maceration of the periincisional skin and sutures. The presence of ionic silver guarantees effective control against possible colonization by pathogenic microorganisms.
• The hydrocolloid component allows sustained adhesion to the periwound skin while also ensuring the flexibility necessary to minimize the risk of dislocation or detachment of the dressing during movements, ensuring greater patient comfort.
• The external protective polyurethane film is waterproof and provides an effective antibacterial and viral barrier.

The presence of silver ions provides sustained antimicrobial activity that lasts up to fourteen days as demonstrated by in vitro studies.
