Vitamin D3 of plant origin, coming from a sustainable source of Reindeer Lichen, contributes to the proper functioning of the immune system and to the maintenance of bone and muscle function.
Highly dosed, this vitamin contributes to the absorption of calcium and phosphorus.

Arkocapsule® Vegetable Vitamin D3, provide every day:

50 µg of vitamin D3, equivalent to 2000 IU (International Units).

Lichens are symbiotic organisms that associate a fungus with an alga. Located in different parts of the world (North America, Scandinavia, Asia ...), Cladonia rangferina is one of the lichen species. It is known as Reindeer Lichen because it is the main food source for reindeer during the winter.

Since lichen is one of the richest sources of vitamin D, reindeer accumulate vitamin D in their muscle tissue. This will allow the inhabitants of the northern areas (who eat reindeer meat) to obtain the necessary amount of vitamin D even with little exposure to UV rays.

VITAMIN D is an essential vitamin for the body.

There are two forms of vitamin D: vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol), which is produced by plants, and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), which is mainly produced by animals. A plant-based form of Vitamin D3 is also available thanks to Reindeer Lichen.
