What is Barilife® Bidodici Mille and what is it used for?
Barilife® Bidodici mille is a product containing vitamin B12 at optimal dosages indicated for the nutritional needs of obese patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
It has been shown that the nature of the surgical procedures generates difficulties in the physiological supply of micro and macro nutrients, thus contributing to the development of the condition of nutritional deficiency in the patient.
Vitamin B12 deficiency is the most common nutritional deficiency in patients undergoing bariatric surgery in whom there is inadequate production of the intrinsic factor, necessary for intestinal absorption of the vitamin. The sublingual form, exploiting a different path of absorption than the gastrointestinal one, does not require the presence of the intrinsic factor, thus guaranteeing the maximum absorption of vitamin B12 in the case of bariatric surgery.
The use of Barilife®Bidodici mille helps to correct effectively and appropriately the deficient state of vitamin B12 which can be responsible for anemia (feeling of fatigue and generalized tiredness), high levels of homocysteine, neuropathy and cognitive difficulties.
What does Barilife® Bidodici Mille contain?
Barilife®Bidodici mille contains 1000 mcg of vitamin B12 present as cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin.
The presence of cyanocobalamin guarantees the efficiency of the different metabolic pathways in which methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, its metabolites, are involved. In fact, while methylcobalamin, present in the formulation of Barilife®Bidodici mille and immediately usable by the body, is involved in the process of erythropoiesis and in the development of the nervous system, adenosylcobalamin is involved in the formation of myelin, in the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. and amino acids.
Therefore, the use of Barilife®Bidodici mille ensures an excellent supply of both active metabolites of vitamin B12, leading to an adequate and balanced restoration of normal physiological processes.
