CURIOSITIES AND INFORMATION FOR THE CONSUMER:
Energy metabolism generates metabolic waste which is eliminated through the intestines, kidneys, skin and lungs. Many of these metabolic wastes are acidic and need an appropriate neutralization in order to be eliminated.
When the body produces a quantity of acidic metabolic waste greater than that which it is able to neutralize and eliminate, an accumulation of acidic substances occurs which will lead, over time, to an acid-base imbalance.
The lack of alkaline substances can also cause an alteration of the acid-base balance. To limit the damage caused by this imbalance, the body activates expensive compensation systems. The body initially deposits acid waste in the connective tissue and then releases and eliminates it when basic mineral salts are again available in the blood. This phenomenon occurs practically every day in our organism. An incorrect or unbalanced diet (for example excessive quantities of meat, cheese, coffee and reduced consumption of vegetables and wholemeal products) can cause a state of acidosis due to this type of diet.
Other causes may derive from poor oxygenation of the body and a reduced ability to eliminate waste through the kidneys. A sedentary life in closed environments does not always allow proper oxygenation. Finally, an insufficient supply of liquids does not allow adequate elimination of waste, through the kidneys and the skin (sweating).
The Zinc present in BaseMed® helps the body to maintain the physiological acid-base metabolism.
POWER SUPPLY
A correct diet should include 75% of daily fruits, vegetables, potatoes, cabbage, lettuce, salad. Among the acidifying foods we find: meat, poultry, cured meats, fresh and aged cheese, yogurt, products based on starchy foods and sweets.
Many foods, even if they are acidifiers, are indispensable and absolutely must not be eliminated as they are essential sources of proteins and vitamins, however their acidifying contribution must be compensated by the intake of foods with an alkalizing content. If the dietary precautions are not sufficient, it may be useful to supplement the diet with BaseMed®.
