Dauerbinde K 6cm x 7m bandage, produced by Lohmann, is a supportive and compressive bandage that allows a high elongation.

Characteristics

Contraindications

Advanced occlusive diseases of the peripheral arteries, decompensated heart failure, septic phlebitis, phlegmasia coerulea dolens, skin sensitivity disorder, intolerance to bandage materials. In very rare cases, skin irritation or allergies may occur.

Warnings

• The bandaging technique must be indicated by the attending physician.
• The bandage should preferably be applied in the morning after waking up or after having raised the leg for a long time.
• If necessary, an underlying bandage is recommended, depending on the condition of the skin.
• The width of the bandage must match the diameter of the affected body part.
• Normally the bandage is applied to the foot holding it at a right angle (90 °).
• Before applying the bandage, any wound should be cleaned / debrided and covered with a wound dressing.
• The bandage should be applied while keeping it taut, so that the pressure of the bandage decreases going from the foot to the knee.
• Hold the head of the bandage close to the leg / arm and unroll the rolled part outwards.
• The bandage should be secured with plaster strips or adhesive bandages and not with bandage clips, as they may cause injury.
• During the use of the bandage, the patient should contact the doctor in case of severe pain.
• Do not divide or cut the bandage.
• Due to the high static pressure, high-stretch bandages must be removed overnight. Improper bandaging can cause skin necrosis and nerve damage from pressure.
