BIONECT® START FLUID OIL FOR TOPICAL APPLICATION - Medical Device

Bionect start ointment is a medical device CE 0373. it is a fluid ointment for topical application containing hyaluronic acid sodium salt from bacterial fermentation, as the main component, and bacterial collagenase obtained from Vibrio alginolyticus as an incorporated medicinal substance. As part of the wound bed preparation phase, Bionect start ointment promotes the healing process and protects the newly formed tissue thanks to the moisturizing action of hyaluronic acid. In fact, the wound healing process occurs more quickly in a humid environment. Bacterial collagenesis promotes wound bed preparation.

This ointment is strictly indicated for the local treatment of chronic ulcers with necrotic or fibrinous tissue (i.e. pressure sores, vascular leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers), of which it promotes debridement. It is particularly indicated to provide an optimal moist environment and wound bed preparation that facilitate the natural healing process.

Components

The main component is hyaluronic acid sodium salt 0.2%. while the other components are collagenase (not less than 2.0 nkat / g of ointment1), light liquid paraffin, white petroleum jelly.

The katal (symbol kat) is the unit of measurement of the catalytic activity of an enzyme included in the International System of Units (SI).

How it applies

The lesions must be cleaned and disinfected before application. To ensure successful treatment, there must be sufficient moisture on the wound area. Dry lesions should be moistened with saline (0.9% NaCl) or with solutions that are well tolerated by the tissue, such as glucose solution. Hard exits should be softened by applying a moist bandage. Apply a layer of about 2 mm of Bionect start ointment on the wound once a day or according to the opinion of the healthcare professional. Cover the treated area with a sterile bandage to ensure adequate contact.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Bionect start ointment can be used safely during pregnancy and breastfeeding according to medical indications.

Possible contraindications

Bionect start ointment must not be used in patients with ascertained individual hypersensitivity to the active ingredients contained in the product.

Warnings and Precautions

It is advisable not to prolong the use of the product beyond 30 days. In case of manifest signs of infection consult the doctor for the possible institution of treatment with antibiotics. Tetracyclines should not be used topically with Bionect start ointment. Do not use the product together with soaps / detergents, disinfectants based on quaternary ammonium salts, silver and other heavy metals, which can reduce its action. If necessary, ask your pharmacist or doctor which products to use. Do not use on exposed cartilage and tendon tissue. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. In case of accidental ingestion or inhalation consult your doctor immediately. Avoid direct contact of the container with the wound. Close the container after each application. Keep the product out of the reach of children.

What undesirable effects can Bionect Start Ointment bring

None in particular but local side effects such as pain, itching, burning and erythema may occur, possible systemic side effects cannot be excluded in patients with known hypersensitivity to the components of the product.

Do not use in case of damaged packaging, the product can be used up to 36 months after the first opening of the tube.
