Composition

Bulking agent: microcrystalline cellulose; anti-caking agents: talc, magnesium stearate, capsule in hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; Vit. B3 or PP (Niacinamide), Vit. B5 (Calcium pantothenate), Vit. Indications

How does BIVITAL work?

The B vitamins are a series of precious elements for the functionality of our organism, participating as cofactors in numerous enzymatic reactions, particularly useful in the treatment of anemic states (in particular megaloblastic anemia), useful both in the production of energy starting from macromolecules such as carbohydrates, lipids and proteins both in biosynthetic processes. Of particular importance, especially with regard to vitamins B9 and B12, is also the antioxidant role of these vitamins, as well as the ability to promote the synthesis of nucleotides (such as thymine for DNA synthesis), and to detoxify the body from important catabolites such as homocysteine (involved at the forefront in the genesis of cardiovascular damage).

Deficiency of B vitamins can cause different symptoms, depending on which vitamin is most deficient.

The main signs of deficiency are affecting the central nervous system (mental confusion, depression, fatigue, lethargy, hallucinations, numbness and tingling in the extremities) and the skin, as well as hair loss and scaly rash (such as cracks; especially around the eyes, nose, mouth and genital area).

Warnings

The presence of riboflavin could cause a significant change in the color of the urine, without any clinical significance. The concomitant intake of PPI could reduce the intestinal absorption of cyanocobalamine (Vit. B12). Vit. B6 can antagonize the therapeutic effects of levodopa.

Adverse gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea have only rarely been described, especially in patients predisposed or treated for too long periods.
