Cassia fistula is part of the composition of food supplements and drugs used to promote intestinal transit in the presence of occasional constipation. In fact, thanks to its content of anthraquinone glycosides, cassia fistula is able to exert a laxative action: these molecules are capable of stimulating intestinal peristalsis, favoring the transit of the material contained in the intestine itself, therefore, favoring evacuation.

Furthermore, from some studies conducted in vitro, it has emerged that some preparations obtained from the fruits of cassia are able to exert antibacterial and antiviral effects.
