Cellulite is a phenomenon that particularly affects female subjects; in fact, it is estimated that about 80% of women suffer from this problem. In the presence of cellulite, the skin tissue appears turgid and sometimes painful, with the characteristic orange peel appearance. Cellulite usually affects the root of the lower limbs, the buttocks, the lumbar area and the inner areas of the arms. Usually, three stages are distinguished: the first stage (edematous cellulite) is characterized by the presence of edema caused by stagnation of liquids in the tissues and by the accumulation of lipids and water in the cells. The skin still appears quite taut and elastic and the phenomenon is not always easily visible; however, a feeling of heaviness in the limbs may be felt. The second stage (fibrous cellulite) is the one in which cellulite begins to be more visible; the skin begins to harden and "fade" becoming reddish when compressed; if you take a little bit of skin in your hands it takes on the classic appearance reminiscent of orange peel. The third stage (sclerotic cellulitis) is determined when the blood and lymphatic flow are greatly slowed, there are nodules that cause pain to the touch and the fibrotic tissue tends to sclerotize.
The dilated capillaries, also present in the second stage of cellulite, increase considerably. The skin is cold to the touch, a sign of circulatory insufficiency, and painful. When compressed, a depression forms which takes a few seconds to disappear. The causes of cellulite are many and very often multifactorial. Some of these factors, such as race, sex and family history, are not influenced and are therefore referred to as primary factors. Others, called secondary factors, are related to particular pathologies that cause poor circulation, water retention and slowing of metabolism, or to the intake of certain substances, in particular hormonal therapies. Finally, there are the so-called aggravating factors, linked to an incorrect lifestyle, among these we can include: sedentary lifestyle, too rapid weight loss, high-calorie diet, rich in fat and salt, wrong posture, clothing that is too tight, shoes too tight or too high-heeled, stress, smoking and being overweight. In its special formulation, CellDiet contains, exclusively, Active Seaweed®, a fiber extracted from brown algae. It also contains Pineapple to promote the drainage of body fluids and counteract the imperfections of cellulite and together with Centella it is also useful in case of heaviness in the legs. Furthermore, the witch hazel promotes venous circulation.
