Arnica Montana

Tincture

Arnica is a siliciculous perennial herbaceous plant with a rosette of 4 oval basal leaves and yellow-orange flowers in large solitary flower heads. The name derives from ARNAKIS, lambskin, due to the down that covers the leaves. Known since ancient times among the people as a "plant for the traumatized", discovered by the scientific world in 1600 and defined as a "panacea for trauma".

Raw material
Arnica montana TM is prepared from the flowers and the root.

Composition and properties
Some active ingredients of arnica are: arnicina, arnisterine, inulin, tannins, phytosterin, caffeic and chlorogenic acid, silica. Arnica has astringent, anti-inflammatory, anti-ecchymotic properties.

Indications

Manifestations resulting from physical trauma: fall, contusion, sprain. - Edema, hematoma, ecchymosis and haemorrhagic manifestations from trauma.
Post-traumatic joint effusions.
Low back pain and lumbosciatica.

Prescribe Arnica montana TM for topical use only, in the absence of skin lesions.
