Mercurius solubilis is indicated for cold patients, suffering from rheumatism and inflammation of the upper airways with abundant expectoration. They are predisposed to canker sores, gingivitis, tonsillitis, bad breath and have foul-smelling sweats.

Their digestion is disturbed and characterized by intestinal cramps and dysentery, sometimes with blood in the stool. The liver functions are reduced and the swelling of the organ often causes pain.
