Farmactive foam pu is a sterile polyurethane foam dressing with an adhesive edge. It is used to treat moderately or heavily exuding skin lesions such as pressure sores, venous ulcers, diadetic ulcers, skin transplant sites, and surgical and post-operative wounds. The polyurethane foam dressing maintains a moist microenvironment that is optimal for wound healing. The dressing absorbs excess exudate and retains it without letting it spread laterally with the risk of macerating the periwound skin. The exudate, thanks to the high permeability of the polyurethane foam, evaporates allowing the dressing to absorb it again. The properties of the upper membrane of impermeability to liquids and bacteria isolate the wound environment from external contamination. The dressing is soft and conformable to provide maximum patient comfort.
