Active principles

Chitosan : polysaccharide deriving from chitin, a polymer that gives hardness to the shells and shells of crustaceans, also present in the composition of some mushrooms.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid): one of the most important vitamins for our body, which however is not able to synthesize it and must therefore be taken with the diet. It also doesn't build up and you need to take it constantly to keep your blood levels stable.

Curiosity

Chitosan is synthesized from chitins, natural substances found in fungi, arthropods and the exoskeleton of marine crustaceans.

It can be considered a dietary fiber similar to cellulose and therefore its absorption is zero and its excretion occurs through the faeces.

The main source of chitosan in nature is chitin, a substance present in the exoskeleton of marine crustaceans, found with a lower concentration in the cell wall of many fungi.

The discovery of the lipo-absorbent effects of this substance and its potential ability to act on weight control dates back to 1970, later confirmed by studies carried out on humans.

The particular electrochemical reactivity of chitosan is able to promote the formation of a network structure, capable of capturing fats.

In the stomach and intestine, this activity causes chitosan to bind to the fats consumed in the diet, which are trapped and pass through the alimentary canal without undergoing transformation (therefore without providing calories), to be finally eliminated with the faeces.
