Cica care what it is for

Cica-Care Gel Sheet is a soft, self-adhesive, semi-occlusive silicone dressing consisting of sanitary silicone reinforced with a support membrane. Cica-Care is indicated both for the treatment of recent or pre-existing hypertrophic and keloid scars, and for the prophylaxis and prevention of closed (sutured) wounds. In addition to the benefits of using silicone gel sheets for the treatment of scars, Cica-Care adds those consisting of self-adhesive and long-lasting. The result is a good cost / benefit ratio and a better satisfaction (acceptability) of the patient for the treatment and prevention of scars.

Features of Cica-care

  • Self-adhesive
  • Durable
  • Conformable
  • Reusable
  • Good cost-benefit ratio
  • Easy to use
  • Today even more flexible

Advantages for Cica-care

  • Self-adhesive The adhesive side of the dressing, made up of patented material, is placed directly in contact with the scar; the external side, covered with a thin silicone membrane, is not adhesive. A secondary adhesive dressing is therefore not essential, which makes Cica-Care easier to use and therefore more acceptable for the patient.
  • Durable The association of the silicone membrane with the gel provides excellent support, so Cica-Care lasts longer and does not tend to "crumble" like other silicone gel sheets.
  • Conformable Cica-Care is a very well conformable silicone gel sheet. Thanks to its self-adhesion, Cica-Care is easily applicable in many anatomical areas, including the earlobes and sternal areas.
  • Reusable One piece of Cica-Care can be easily washed and reused. Only when it becomes difficult to achieve perfect cleansing is it time to replace it with a new one. One gel sheet generally lasts up to 28 days.
  • Good cost / benefit ratio. The long life and the possibility of reuse alone explain the good cost / benefit ratio of Cica-Care.
  • More flexible Cica-Care has been re-designed to be more flexible.

Indications for using Cica-care

Temporary use in the treatment of recent or previous hypertrophic and keloid scars. Temporary use in the prophylaxis of hypertrophic or keloid scar formation.

Contraindications for the use of Cica-care

In some patients, erythema has been observed on the skin covered by the dressing. This problem has been attributed to poor sanitation or dressing applied with excessive compression. Should erythema appear, reduce the

treatment with Cica-Care at 12 hours, followed by 12 hours of rest. If erythema persists, stop treatment and consult your doctor. On sutured surgical wounds, Cica-Care should only be applied after removal of the sutures and subsequent closure of the wound.

The use of Cica-Care is contraindicated in patients with pathologies that can interfere with the correct application of the product and in patients with dermatological problems that could make the skin in contact with the product more fragile and able to get irritated.

DO NOT USE ON OPEN OR INFECTED WOUNDS.
DO NOT USE ON ACNE AFFECTED SKIN.

Instructions for use of Cica-care Gel

  1. Wash hands before and after use. Gently cleanse the scar and pericicatricial skin with mild soap and rinse with warm water. Carefully dry the scar and the pericicatricial tissue.
  2. Once you have cut the sheet to the right size for the scar to be treated, apply the adhesive side to the scar.
  3. Cica-Care * is self-adhesive, but can also be held in place by a light elastic bandage (eg Easifix * Cohesive) or a plaster (eg Hypafix *). To get used to the skin better, apply Cica-Care for 4 hours for the first 2 days, 8 hours for the next 2 days and increase the application time by 2 hours at a time, until reaching an optimum of 24 hours a day.
