What is Cistiflux A Plus 36 + D used for?
CISTIFLUX A Plus sachets is very useful as an adjuvant in the treatment of cystitis and in the prophylaxis of uncomplicated urinary infections, in the event that a synergistic action is needed to prevent bacterial adhesion to the urothelium and thus favor its elimination with the urine, such as in relapsing cystitis.
Cistiflux is a food supplement based on cranberry, the latter is an intense red berry, native to some areas of North America, which for centuries has been considered a food with numerous health properties. Today, it is used above all as a complement in cystitis of bacterial origin, inflammation of the bladder mucosa, very annoying and irritating, which often occurs in a recurrent form especially in women of childbearing age. About 85% of lower urinary tract infections (bladder and urethra) are caused by uropathogenic strains of an intestinal bacterium, Escherichia coli.
The American cranberry contains several phytochemical components, in particular proanthocyanidins (PACs), which favor the elimination with the urine of uropathogenic bacterial strains, in particular of E. coli, because they counteract their adhesion to the walls of the urinary tract.
What are the benefits of taking these two components?
Cranberry is mainly used as an adjunct in the prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections. Its benefits are attributed to proanthocyanidins, which interfere with the adhesion of uropathogemic bacteria to the bladder mucosa. These uropathogem strains rely on the adhesive capacity of type P fimbriae for colonization, the first step in an infectious process. The proanthocyanidins (PACs) especially type A present in the cranberry, as demonstrated by in vitro and in vivo experiments, act at the molecular level by inhibiting type R fimbriae thus preventing bacteria from adhering to cells and colonizing them. D-mannose is able to act in synergy with the proanthocyanidins contained in cranberry, in glove it has a high affinity for the iectin-jaannose-sensitive of many bacteria, including Escherichia coli.
D-Mannose, in fact, by binding to these lectins, present on the P-type fimbriae of these bacteria, counteracts the adhesion of the latter to the urinary mucous membranes, promoting their elimination through the urine.
Medical device based on cranberry extract titrated in type A proanthocyanidins (36 mg per sachet) and D-mannose.
It does not contain lactose and gluten.
The titer in type A proanthocyanidins is guaranteed by the use of a validated and highly sensitive method, known as DMAC (dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde from the name of the colorimetric reagent used). CISTIFLUX A Plus represents a natural approach to help fight cystitis, both as a complement to acute antibiotic therapy, and in the prophylaxis of uncomplicated urinary infections, thanks to the recognized properties of type A proanthocyanidins (PACs) and D-mannose. in preventing bacterial adhesion to the urothelium.
