Contec ™ Pulse Oximeter Finger CMS50DL
Contec CMS50DL is a pulse oximeter capable of calculating oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate (pulse).
Technical features
Contec CMS50DL is a pulse oximeter capable of calculating oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate (pulse).
The Fingertip Pulse Oximeter is a non-invasive device programmed to spot-check arterial hemoglobin (SpO2) oxygen saturation and pulse rate of adult and pediatric patients in home and hospital settings (including use in clinic / internist visit, anesthesia, intensive care, etc.). This device is not programmed for continuous monitoring.
Switchboard
Oxygen saturation is the percentage of HbO2 in the total Hb of the blood, so called the O2 concentration of the blood. It is an important bio-parameter for respiration. For the purpose of measuring SpO2 more easily and accurately, our company developed the Pulse Oximeter. At the same time, the device can measure the pulse rate simultaneously. The pulse oximeter features small volume, low energy consumption, convenient operation and being portable. It is only necessary for the patient to insert it into one of his fingers inside the photoelectric finger sensor for diagnosis, and a display will directly show you the measured hemoglobin saturation values.

9) Optical sensors
Red light (wavelength 660nm, 6.65mW)
Infrared (wavelength 880nm, 6.75mW)
Contec CMS50DL is suitable for people with
- heart failure,
- chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases,
- bronchial asthma.
How to use
Major Applications and Application Scope:
The Pulse Oximeter can be used to measure human hemoglobin saturation and pulse rate through the finger, and indicate pulse intensity in the display. The product is suitable for use in family, hospital (normal hospital room), oxygen pressure, social medical organizations, and also for oxygen saturation and pulse measurement.
1. The finger must be placed correctly or else it may cause incorrect measurement.
2. The SpO2 sensor and photoelectric tube receiver must be programmed so that the patient's arteriole is positioned in the center.
3. The SpO2 sensor should not be used in a location or branch tied to the arterial canal or cuff for measuring blood pressure or receiving intravenous injections.
4. Make sure the optical path is clear of any obstructions such as rubber coated fabric.
5. Excessive light in the environment may affect the measurement results. This includes fluorescent lamps, red light, infrared radiators, direct sunlight, etc.
6. Forceful actions of the subject or extreme electrosurgical interference could also affect accuracy.
7. Tested persons may not use nail polish or other makeup.
Repair and Maintenance
- Change the batteries the low voltage appears on the screen.
-Clean the surface of the device before using it. Rub the device first with medical alcohol, then allow it to air dry or wipe it with dry tissue.
-Use medical alcohol to disinfect the product after use, prevent from cross infection for the next use.
- Take out the batteries if the pulse oximeter is not in use for a long time.
-Users are advised to calibrate the device quarterly (or according to the hospital program calibration schedule). It can also be done by a state-appointed agent or contact us for calibration.
Warnings
Safe Operation Instructions:
-Check the main unit and all accessories periodically to ensure that there is no visible damage that could affect patient safety and monitoring performance on the cables and transducer. It is recommended that the instrument be checked at least once a week. When there is obvious damage, stop using the monitor.
-Necessary maintenance should ONLY be performed by qualified service engineers. Users are not allowed to carry out maintenance.
-The Pulse Oximeter cannot be used in conjunction with other instruments not specified in the User Manual. Only the accessory named or recommended by the manufacturer can be used with this device.
-This product is calibrated before leaving the factory.
Warnings
-Risk of explosion. Do not use in an environment with flammable gases such as flammable anesthetic agents.
- Do not use the pulse oximeter while the patient is being measured by MRI and CT.
- The person allergic to rubber cannot use this tool.
-The disposal of waste tools, its accessories and packaging (including batteries, plastic bags, foams and paper boxes) must follow local laws and regulations.
-Please check the packaging before use to make sure that the instrument and accessories are fully compliant with the packing list, or else the instrument may malfunction.
-Please do not compare this device with the functional test sheet for device related information.
Attentions
-Keep the pulse oximeter away from dust, vibration, corrosive substances, explosive materials, high temperatures and humidity.
-If the pulse oximeter gets wet, please stop using it.
-When it is brought from cold to warm or humid environment, please do not use it immediately.
-Do not handle keys in the front panel with sharp materials.
Disinfection of the pulse oximeter with high temperature or high pressure steam is not allowed. Refer to the User Manual in the chapter on instructions for cleaning and disinfecting.
-Do not immerse the pulse oximeter in liquids. When it needs to be cleaned, please wipe the surface with medical grade alcohol from a soft cloth. Do not directly spray any liquid on the device.
-When cleaning the device with water, the temperature should be less than 60 ° C.
-For fingers that are too small or too cold, this will likely affect the patient's normal SpO2 measurements and pulse rate, please close the thick finger, such as the thumb or middle finger deep enough inside the probe.
- Do not use the instrument with children or newborn patients.
-The product is suitable for children over 4 years and adults (the weight must be between 15 kg and 110 kg).
-The tool may not work for all patients. If you are unable to reach a stable reading, discontinue use.
-The data update period is less than 5 seconds, which can vary according to the different individual pulse rate.
If any abnormal conditions appear on the screen during the test process, remove and reinsert your finger to restore normal use.
The device has a normal useful life of three years from first use.
-The hanging rope attached to the product is made of hypoallergenic material, if a particular group is sensitive to the rope, please stop using it. Also, pay attention to the use of the rope, do not wear it around the neck to avoid causing harm to the patient.
-The meter does not have the low voltage alarm function, it only shows the low voltage, please change the battery when the battery power is exhausted.
-When the parameter is particular, the instrument does not have the alarm function. Do not use the instrument in situations where alarms are required.
-The batteries must be removed if the meter is to be stored for more than a month, or else the batteries may leak.
-A flexible circuit connects the two parts of the device. Do not cross or pull the connection.
Clinical restrictions
1. Since the measurement is based on the pulsations of the arteriole, a substantial pulsation of the subject's blood flow is required.
2. For those with a substantial amount of dilute drug staining (such as methylene blue, indigo green, or acid indigo blue), or carbon monoxide hemoglobin (COHb), or methionine (Me + Hb), or thiosaclycic hemoglobin, or the problem jaundice, the monitor's determination may be incorrect.
3. Substances such as dopamine, procaine, prilocaine, lindocaine and butacaine could also be a major factor to blame for serious errors in SpO2 measurement.
4. Since the SpO2 value serves as a reference value for judging anemic anoxia and toxic anoxia, some patients with severe anemia may also report good SpO2 measurements.
The best storage environment is -40 ° C to 60 ° C ambient temperature and no higher than 95% relative humidity.
