ConvaMax ™ Superabsorber ConvaTec Adhesive Dressing

ConvaMax ™ combines high absorption and retention to protect against excess exudate contributing to poor skin integrity .

High absorption of liquids

Chronic wound exudate can be corrosive to the wound bed and intact skin. ConvaMax ™ absorbs high levels of superabsorbent core (SAP) exudate (up to 170g / 100cm2) locking it away from the wound and helping to promote skin integrity.

High retention of liquids and bacteria

Once exudate is absorbed, ConvaMax ™ holds fluid within the SAP core, ensuring that it is not released back onto the wound, dressing or clothing.

Modulation of the protease

ConvaMax ™ has been shown in vitro not only to absorb MMPs but also to bind them. This reduces excess MMPs within the wound environment to encourage healing.

Soft and conformable

It is soft on the skin, easy to apply and easy to remove for patient satisfaction. Blue protective backing prevents bumps and maintains conformability. Choosing a dressing that effectively manages wound exudate level can result in prolonged wear time, positively impacting waste and costs, and can also help with healing.

A choice to satisfy every wound

Choice of the full range of sizes to suit any type of wound. Choose between adhesive or non-adhesive versions.

Extra protection

ConvaMax ™ can be used as a primary or secondary dressing. When an additional primary dressing is required, it can be used with Hydrofiber® dressing such as AQUACEL® EXTRA ™. Exudate can transfer through the Hydrofiber ® layer and be absorbed by ConvaMax ™, providing a combination of an advanced wound contact layer and high absorbency.

ConvaMax ™ In Vitro Performance Characteristics

The technology inside blocks the fluid. Dressings made of cotton, viscose, polyester, or foam absorb fluid within the material. However, under pressure, fluid can often escape from the dressing.
