Convex Bellow Plates Can Be Cut Out
The Natura convex plate is a convex plate, specially created to manage inverted ostomies. It is made up of a central trilaminar adhesive disc consisting of: an upper and lower layer in Durahesive Technology and an intermediate layer in polyethylene film, surrounded by a non-woven adhesive fabric support. The support ring is surrounded by a flexible microporous adhesive plaster entirely covered with a thin layer of hydrocolloid in contact with the skin. A circular flange with a bellows mechanism and an interlocking rail is attached to the adhesive. This structure allows a completely atraumatic and safe coupling and a hermetic closure. In this way it is ensured that the bag does not detach accidentally from the plate, while at the same time ensuring the seal against any infiltration of effluent odors.
Convex skin barrier, with central disc in Durahesive, a formula enriched with Stomahesive Technology (°), and flexible hydrocolloid patch composed of pink non-woven fabric. The plates have the following dimensions:
External dimension 11.2 X 11.2 cm; flange 45 mm; hole cut-out 13-22 mm.
External dimension 11.2 X 11.2 cm; 57 mm flange; hole cut-out 13-35 mm.
External dimension 13.4 X 13.4 cm; flange 70 mm; 13-48mm cut-out hole.
Bellows structure composed of:
flange in pink plastic material
Bellows in a transparent plastic film (EVA Ethylene - Vinyl - Acetate) that can be stretched (accordion mechanism) up to 1 cm.
Each plate is individually packaged in a shaped blister.
(°) Total skin barrier composed of hydrocolloidal, inert and non-irritating substances: gelatin, pectin, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, polyisobutylene.
When the adhesive in Durahesive comes into contact with the effluents, it seals, absorbing humidity and forms a characteristic collar ("turtle neck effect") around the stoma, protecting it from contact with the effluents and extending the time spent in situ of the device.
The special convex insert creates a mechanical action that allows the extroflexion of the ostoma and facilitates the emission of effluents directly into the bag. The peristomal skin is thus protected from contact with manure and from risky skin irritation.
The bellows structure, which allows the comfortable insertion of the fingers to attach the plate and the bag, is completely atraumatic. This advantage facilitates its positioning for the healthcare worker during the hospital stay, for the caregiver or for the patient himself once at home.
The thin micro-porous hydrocolloid patch makes the barrier flexible and particularly suitable for abdominal profiles that have folds or skin imperfections, ensuring maximum comfort and freedom of movement. Finally, the presence of hydrocolloid powders guarantee adhesiveness in a humid environment, therefore, the barrier maintains its adherence to the skin even during the bath or shower.
