Curzaplex

Dietary supplement

Natural supplement with synergistic and complementary activity based on highly bioavailable curcumin, with saffron, black pepper, phosphatidylcholine and vitamin D3, useful for counteracting the action of free radicals, chronic inflammation and the consequent premature cell and tissue aging. Due to its fat solubility, curcumin has a low intestinal absorption and a high hepatic metabolism with consequent poor bioavailability. To improve the absorption and bioavailability of curcumin, several strategies have been adopted in the Curzaplex:
- turmeric extract is present in a high dosage (500 mg);
- the use of an extract with a high content of curcumin (95%);
- use of a booster (piperine) which, by increasing the blood flow of the affected organs, promotes the absorption of curcumin and by blocking the CYP33A4 enzyme, prolongs its biological activity;
- the addition of a surfactant (polysorbate) which, by forming micelles around the curcumin granule, rejects the steric repulsion forces of the cell wall thus favoring transport and absorption;
- the association with lecithins (phosphatidylcholine) to create liposomal structures (lipid bilayer micelles) to increase enteric absorption;
- the use of a highly refined curcumin, especially as regards the size of the particles which in the extract used are variable from 6 to 48 mcm, compared to about 177 of the normal extracts: this creates an absorption surface greater than the surface of normal curcumin extracts (absorption increases from a minimum of 7 to a maximum of 29 times and from a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 66 times greater than the absorption surface of the curcumin phospholipid alone.

Curzaplex due to the particular formulation, the extreme quality of the raw materials and the high concentrations of the active ingredients, is useful in the adjuvant treatment of the pathologies generated by chronic inflammation (both low and high grade) and by osidative stress; especially those affecting the nervous system and the cardiovascular, digestive and osteoarticular systems.

Curzaplex is able to optimize the biological defenses against organic degenerative evolution and improve the general homeostatic adaptation, in order to attenuate or contrast its evolution. All in a context of synergistic integration in which Curzaplex can be the adjuvant complement to specific and / or concomitant synergistic therapies.

Traditional component properties:

- Curcuma longa (turmeric): it is known as a golden remedy for its multiple health and therapeutic properties due to the numerous pharmacological and molecular targets identified for the extracts of this plant. The flavonoid complex Curcumin represents its most important active ingredient, recognizing very important antioxidant, inflammation modulating and antidegenerative properties: the number of endogenous molecules on which it is able to influence is truly impressive. Its action on inflammation is achieved through a down-regulation of the transcription factor NF-kB, of the cyclooxygenase and liposigenase enzymes and of many proinflammatory cytokines. The protective and antidegenerative action on the nervous, digestive and cardiovascular systems is linked, in addition to the down-regulation action on chronic inflammation, to the decreased expression of numerous activation factors, growth factors and enzymes involved in degenerative pathogenesis (deposition of amyloid and heavy metals, radical activity): NF-kB, ERK 1-2, GSK-3b, PI3K / Akt, Caspase-3, VEGF, various kinases and secretases. The scientific literature on curcumin in the oncology field is also very important and increasingly relevant.
Furthermore, the phytocomplex of turmeric has significant hepatoprotective, choleretic and cholagogue properties. Curcumin represents at most only 8% of the dry weight of turmeric powder for food use and as a supplement it presents considerable problems of bioavailability, due to the poor intestinal absorption of the fat-soluble forms and the high hepatic metabolization.
- Crocus Sativus (Saffron): the extract obtained from the stigmas of saffron flowers, in addition to the well-known food uses, has proved invaluable for its phytotherapeutic properties, in particular in tropism on the central nervous system. The phyto-derivative is very rich in carotenoids and recognizes zeaxanthin (precursor of the following ones), crocetin, alpha-cricin, picrocrocin and safranal as the main active ingredients. Numerous clinical studies have confirmed its neurotonic and antidepressant activity (including cross studies with pharmaceutical antidepressants) and recently the literature has expanded towards potential uses in an antioxidant and antidegenerative key on organs and systems that are affected by the action of free radicals (particularly nervous system and cardiovascular system). It also has spasmolytic, emmenagogic and protective properties for the mucous membranes of the digestive system.
- Phosphatidylcholine: essential phospholipid component of cell membranes: at the level of nerve cells it directly intervenes in the conduction of the nerve stimulus and interneuronal communication. An adequate supply of it is a necessary condition for the correct trophism of the nervous tissue, particularly in all pathological conditions of the body (inflammatory, toxic, degenerative, metabolic). Its presence in the formulation also allows a better intestinal absorption and a better diffusion towards the central nervous system of the fat-soluble fractions of curcumin.
- Piper nigrum (black pepper): the black pepper extract has antioxidant, euphoric (with stimulation of gastric secretion) and metabolic properties. At low dosage it is able to increase the absorption and bioavailability of other plant active ingredients (in particular curcumin).
- Vitamin D3: in addition to the well-known role of this fat-soluble vitamin in calcium metabolism, in recent years researchers have highlighted its involvement as a health element of primary importance for many other biological effects. In adequate concentration (depending on the nutritional, integrational and subjective state) it intervenes in the innate immune response, optimizing it while exerting a modulating action on chronic inflammation, induces the production of substances with antimicrobial and antiviral action (defensin b2, lipocalin and al .), exerts an antidegenerative and antineoplastic action by regulating the apoptosis of degenerated cells, reduces the evolution of many autoimmune diseases and has a neurotrophic and neurotonic action, with an antidegenerative effect on the CNS and support of mood. It is partially metabolized and activated in the skin under the effect of solar radiation, but the supplemental food intake is very important, in fact a large part of the Western population constantly has levels of vitamin D3 below sufficient.

Main use:

- adjuvant in all pathological conditions that can be sustained by chronic low fat inflammation and by the systemic action of free radicals;
- chronic inflammatory and painful manifestations such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, tenosynovitis and similar forms;
- adjuvant in the key of wide-ranging antidegenerative prevention;
- adjuvant in the integrated treatment of early and / or senile degenerative forms of the CNS;
- early symptoms of neurological degeneration (memory loss, space-time disorientation, etc.);
- acute and chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, leaky intestine syndrome, chronic liver diseases;
- adjuvant in all chronic inflammatory diseases, including forms linked to autoimmunity;
