Lancing needle 31G x 6 mm
Description
Sterile, double-ended, single-use medical device, designed to be used with a needle injection system (e.g. pen injector) that meets the specifications of EN ISO 11608-1 for the subcutaneous injection of insulin. Insulin pen needles are used by consumers, caregivers and healthcare professionals under the instructions of doctors. It consists of a double-ended needle tube, tied to the needle hub with a joining medium, needle container, needle guard and sealing paper. The guard, case and hub, along with the sealing paper, provide physical protection to the needle. The hub can be screwed onto the needle injection system (e.g. pen injector) for subcutaneous injection of insulin. The product is mainly packaged individually sterilized to SAL of 10-6 by gamma sterilization. It is for single use only.
The hub has standard internal threads (means of fixing the needle assembly), which allow it to be screwed to the pen injector device. The patient and the end of the product cartridge are lubricated using a silicone-based medical lubricant to facilitate injection (to reduce pain) and penetration of the rubber septum.
A guard is fitted to the end of the needle to protect the tip from accidental damage. Each needle is protected by a detachable seal to provide a barrier against sterility. To use a pen needle, the user needs to remove the seal, attach it to the pen injector and remove the needle container accordingly. After which the user must remove the internal needle shield to expose the needle and perform an injection. After the injection, the user must insert the used pen needle into the needle container to remove the pen needle from the injector and dispose of it properly.
Instructions for use
1) Remove the seal.
2) Align the needle with the pen injector.
3) Screw the needle firmly into the pen injector. Keep the needle straight without damage.
4) Remove the needle holder along the pen injector.
5) Remove the needle guard to expose the needle.
6) Give an injection according to medical advice. Be sure to perform the injection safety test according to the injector's instructions for use.
7) Insert the used pen needle into the needle holder.
8) Remove the pen needle from the pen injector and dispose of it properly.
