Intended for home use.
Dosage and method of use
- The sample should be collected as soon as possible as soon as suspicion of drug use arises
- When the urine sample has been collected it is very important that the detection of drugs of abuse occurs promptly
- This is because each drug is eliminated from the body and is detected in the urine at different times and amounts
- Prepare the collection tube
- Wash your hands with soap and warm water
- Urinate directly into the collection tube (with temperature strips). Fill the labeled tube 2/3 full to a level between 30 and 40 mL. Clean the outside of the tube of any splashes or spills
- Check the temperature monitor strip immediately. The temperature that appears should be between 33 ° C and 37 ° C. If it does not appear to be in these parameters, the sample could be altered and therefore another sample must be collected. For any further information on adulteration, please read the part "a special note about adulteration of the sample
- Wash and dry your hands
- Keep the tube aside while reading the test instructions
It is very important that the sample to be analyzed has not been altered or adulterated in any way. The points below are some precautions to be taken to decrease or minimize the possibility that the sample can be adulterated:
- Make sure that the bathroom and shower taps are well closed and that they remain closed as such
- Add any blue substance to the toilet, this will discourage the use of water to dilute the sample
- Keep the medicine cabinet closed
Execution
- Start in a well-lit place
- Have a watch or timer handy
- Samples must be tested immediately. If you have refrigerated the sample, make sure that it and its components return to room temperature before being used
- Open the foil pouch at the notch and remove the At Home Drug Test device. Be careful not to touch the reactive part of the test.
- Insert the test device directly into the collection cup following the arrows represented with "Insert this end". Do not insert the device into the sample by exceeding the line represented with "Max urine level"
- Check that the device remains in the urine sample for 10 minutes
- Read the result after 10 minutes. In the right window marked "Ready to read", the red color will appear
- If you look at the development of the test, you may notice the change in color of the test device. In most cases the "C" control line will become visible before the "T" test line. This is normal and means that the test is working correctly
- After 10 minutes, read the test results immediately
- Important: after 15 minutes or when the window marked with "Result Expired" turns red, this means that the result is no longer valid and should not be read
Reading the results
Negatives : A negative result is indicated with two pink lines (of any intensity), one in the control window and one in the test result window. This means that the urine analyzed turns out to be negative. Remember that even a very faint line is still a negative result.
Preliminaries : A single pink colored line appearing in the control window and no line in the test result window means that the urine sample analyzed is considered preliminary. The urine sample must then be sent to the laboratory for subsequent testing.
Null result : a test is considered as such if no line appears or if a line appears in the "T" test window without the presence of a line in the "C" control window. The presence of a control line is required to confirm test performance and must always be present.
Each At Home Drug Test is useful for detecting the presence of specific drugs. The test detects the substance when its level is above the limit of detection.
A negative test means that if the sample was collected correctly and appropriately and if the test was performed according to the instructions provided, the drug being tested was probably not present in the sample. However, if you are still in doubt about the drug abuse, you may want to retake the test again at a later time.
A preliminary result means positive, i.e. that the test reacted to some substance present in the sample. This needs to be sent to the lab for a more accurate second level test. Please see the paragraph on "test limitations".
First and very important: Be patient. The result you have obtained is called preliminary as it must be re-analyzed in the laboratory to determine if the substance of abuse is really present. Obviously the second examination done in the laboratory will give the certainty of the result obtained.
Screening is the first step in an examination.
Level 1: Discard negative samples
Level 2: Remember, however, that a positivity given by the test can only be ascertained and confirmed by the doctor with the support of laboratory tests.
Limitations of the test
- Using this kit improperly can result in insufficient sample or inaccurate result
- This test can only be used with urine specimens. No other liquids can be analyzed. Do not use this device except with urine
- The urine sample is perishable. Old samples are not suitable for testing
- You cannot retrieve the result of your submitted sample without knowing your personal identification number
- Certain foods, medicines, medical plan diets, and nutritional supplements can cause false positive results
- There is a possibility that substances and factors not described in this package insert may interfere with the test, giving false results (technical or procedural errors)
- Adulterated urine samples can give erroneous results.
- Strong oxidizing agents such as bleach can oxidize drug analytes. If there is a suspicion that a sample has been adulterated, a new sample should be taken
- This test provides a screening result. It was not designed to determine the actual concentration of a drug or the level of intoxication
- Liability is limited and equated to the purchase price of the kit
Warnings and Precautions
All results obtained from the drug of abuse test should be subjected to laboratory confirmation, particularly when the initial results are "preliminary". Remember that without proper laboratory confirmation, a "preliminary" result cannot be considered positive in all respects.
