the elective indication is lymphatic stasis, especially if localized to the lower limbs. Since lymphatic stasis plays a role of primary importance in the symptoms of venous insufficiency of the lower limbs, the chestnut buds perform an important lymphatic drainage action in the varicose leg, considerably attenuating the symptoms responsible for edema and the painful sensation of heavy legs.

It seems that it also has an action on the uterine musculature; the effect could be due to a capillar protective action.
