Ecological litter
Description
Ecological litter, 100% natural and biodegradable for cats. Naturally clumping.
It comes in granules, which can be cataloged in a predetermined size range, each of which has the intrinsic characteristics of the product. The litter has among other characteristics: high absorbency, lightness and absence of dust.
Thanks to its composition, it is capable of retaining animal urine, diabsorbing odors deriving from the decomposition process of liquid and solid manure and controlling the bacterial load inside the containment box.
The litter is biodegradable and has characteristics such that it can be disposed of in an ecological way through the domestic septic tank. Thanks to its formula, the entire production process results in low energy consumption, with no processing residues discharged into the atmosphere or into the water; given the lightness of the product, even the distribution cycle consumes less energy than traditional mineral litters.
In addition to the low energy consumption in the production phase, there is practically zero energy consumption in the disposal phase.

*The adherence test is performed by weighing the amount of total litter that remains adhered to an artificial cat's paw when it is swirled in different points of the litter uniformly distributed in a container.
Components
The granules of the litter are composed of 20-50% of fine absorbent fibres, 20-50% of fibrous particles of cereals, 0.03-0.1% of an anti-odour/antibacterial mixture.
The absorbent fibers are from FSC certified wood.
Cereal fibers can be derived from heat-treated and ground cereal kernels, or from by-products of their processing (e.g. decortication, pearling, etc.).
The anti-odor / antibacterial compound consists of a mixture of tourmalines and silver ions and an inert that has high sanitizing, antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal properties. The antibacterial action of silver is enhanced by the concomitant presence of at least one tourmaline which, thanks to its ionizing properties, allows the composition to act rapidly on various types of substrates, in particular on water or air. As a result, the effectiveness of the antibacterial/anti-odor extends also to the environment surrounding the box containing the litter.

In its agglomerating formulation, the litter of this invention is capable of gelling, when wet with urine, forming easily identifiable and removable lumps.
