AGAINST STIPSIS, TO REGULATE THE INTESTINAL TRANSIT

The frequency of bowel movements among healthy people varies considerably: from three bowel movements per day to three per week.

Normally, the stools are passed effortlessly, without discomfort and without excessive abdominal tension.
By constipation or constipation , therefore, we mean a reduced number of bowel movements or the difficulty in expelling stools.
Since the main function of the large intestine (colon) is to reabsorb the water present inside it, a slowed transit of digested food along the colon determines a greater reabsorption of water with hardening of the stool and consequently fewer evacuations. , i.e. constipation.
If more than three days go by without defecating, the intestinal contents can harden to the point that a person not only has difficulty but also has pain upon expelling the fecal material.
Constipation can also be considered the strong effort required to evacuate as well as the sensation of incomplete emptying of the rectum (tenesmus).
