Pineapple is a tropical plant from 0.50 to 1.20 m high whose fruit, very pleasant, is in demand and used all over the world. It has a central stem with many leaves between which a blue flower is born. But the part of the pineapple that contains the active ingredients is not the fruit, but the stem. The proteolytic enzyme it contains has such pharmacological efficacy that it becomes the basic substance of a series of anti-inflammatory drugs. The part used is the stem and its active ingredient is Bromelain (natural mixture of proteolytic enzymes). The bromelain enzyme is able to digest and therefore to break down proteins. Diuretic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous properties are also attributed to the pineapple stem. Some authors hypothesize a fibrinolytic action at the level of the inflammatory foci, thus facilitating the evacuation of necrotic substances and normalizing cellular metabolism (Pedretti); it is available in natural tablets and capsules.

One 380 mg natural gelatin capsule contains: Pineapple powder. micr. mg 180, Pineapple extr. dry (titer higher than 250 GDU / g in bromelain) 120 mg, Capsule 80 mg. In association in Glucomin (with Glucomannan, Garcinia and Gymnema).

Recommended 2 capsules before main meals (as a digestive) or 2 times a day between meals in other cases.

Indicated for: digestive disorders deriving from impaired protein digestion (stomach swelling, intestinal meteorism, bad breath), adjuvant in slimming diets, in the treatment of cellulite, useful in the treatment of bruises, hematomas and all inflammatory forms; on the other hand it is contraindicated for hypersensitivity to bromelain.

To be used with caution in haemophiliac people or on treatment with anticoagulants. Gastric upset, diarrhea and allergic reactions can sometimes occur.
