SOLUBILITY Almost insoluble in water; soluble in alcohol at 90 °, ether, somewhat soluble also in fatty oils (about 4%) and in glycerin, in chloroform and in acetone. It dissolves easily in solutions of alkaline iodides (potassium iodide), sodium chloride and ammonia salts. Soluble in diluted hydrochloric and nitric acids
