COMPOSITION: - Alchemilla vulgaris EI 20% -Artemisia vulgaris EI 20% -Achillea millefolium EI 20% -Angelica arcangelica EI 15% -Calendula officinalis EI 20% -Rubus idaeus EI 5% THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS: Dysmenorrhea. Oligo-amenorrhea in adolescents. Juvenile menstrual irregularity. Premenstrual syndrome. Adjuvant in the treatment of juvenile acne. DOSAGE: 60 to 80 drops twice a day, after meals. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation. Not to be used in patients with known allergy to the individual components. SIDE EFFECTS: There were no noteworthy side effects at the recommended therapeutic dosages. TOXICITY: Not reported in the literature at recommended therapeutic dosages. Alchemilla vulgaris L. Family : Rosaceae Part used : flowery aerial part. Main constituents : essential oil, phytosterols, flavonoids, silicic acid, tannins (6-8%): ellagitannins, bitter principle. Therapeutic activity : spasmolytic, muscle relaxant, anti-inflammatory, astringent. Toxicity : no toxicity found at the recommended therapeutic dosages. Artemisia vulgaris L. Family : Asteraceae (Compositae) Part used : flowering tops. Main constituents : essential oil, flavonoids, sesquiterpene lactones, bitter substances (absintin), resins. Therapeutic activity : spasmolytic, emmenagogue. Toxicity : no toxic effects are reported. Achillea millefolium L. Family : Asteraceae (Compositae) Part used : flowering tops. Main constituents : essential oil, sesquiterpene lactones, flavonoids, tannins, cyanogenic glycosides, coumarins, organic acids, alkaloids: achyceine, trigonellin, betonicin. Therapeutic activity : anti-inflammatory, spasmolytic. Toxicity : non-toxic at therapeutic dosages. Urine hyperchromia may appear. Angelica arcangelica L. Family : Apiaceae Part used : fresh roots. Main constituents : essential oil, flavonoids, macrocyclic lactones, aromatic acids, sitosterol, tannins, coumarins and furanocoumarins, phenolic acids. Therapeutic activity : sedative, spasmolytic, diuretic, emmenagogue. Toxicity : non-toxic at therapeutic dosages. In hypersensitive subjects, photo-sensitization phenomena were found after prolonged exposure to the sun, due to furocoumarins. Calendula officinalis L. Main constituents : triterpenes, flavonoids, essential oil, sesquiterpene lactones, flavonoids, carotenoids, malic acid, flavoxanthin, calendine.
