Crystalline fructose has a higher sweetening power than sugar, which is why it can be used in reduced doses. From the caloric point of view there are no particular advantages, except in the reduction of the quantity used. Consider that 1 teaspoon of fructose (about 4 g) corresponds to 16 kcal.
