Flocare® G-Tube Nutricia Silicone Probe

The Flocare® Gastrostomy Tube (G-tube) is a silicone balloon catheter, used to replace an existing tube and to be inserted into an already formed ostomy. The G-tube probes are to be used as replacement gastrostomy probes, in order to simplify maintenance and replacement for patients and carers.

Memorandum

According to the "Instructions for Use", Nutricia recommends using the G-tube balloon tube as a replacement tube for a previously inserted gastrostomy tube. It is recommended not to overfill the balloon and to use sterile water or saline

Characteristics

• Easy to place and replace by injecting and sucking water from the balloon
• Designed for maximum patient comfort
• Indicated for long-term enteral nutrition and / or gastric decompression
• Transparent silicone probe, with Ch 10-14-16-18 or 20 gauge, total length ± 23cm and centimeter marking starting from the balloon
• Radiopaque tip
• Latex and phthalate free materials
• The color of the door to inflate the balloon indicates the gauge of the probe, while the balloon capacity is printed on the ring: Red Ch 18 - Balloon capacity 15 m
• ENFit connector with closing cap
• External retention disc to secure the probe and allow it to bend without kinking, thus ensuring optimal patient comfort
• Internal silicone retention disc
• The balloon probe contains a radiopaque line
• It is not recommended to place or replace a G-tube in the case of an unstabilized or infected stoma, and in the case of ascites or peritoneal carcinoma (see the document "Instructions for use")
