In vitro and in vivo studies have shown that Teupolioside, the active ingredient extracted from Ajuga Reptans, has a great antioxidant power and is characterized by a wide variety of biological activities, although its main characteristics are those of inhibition of 5 alpha reductase and contrast of inflammatory states.
Nettle roots contain Phytosterols such as Betasitosterin, capable of effectively inhibiting the formation of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Fillanto appears to be a powerful natural inhibitor of 5 alpha reductase. Epilobium contains myricetol-3-0-beta-D-glucuronide, an active ingredient that is shown to inhibit the release of the pro-inflammatory PGD2 prostaglandins, known for their negative impact on the hair cycle.

Ajuga Reptans, dry extract: The phenylpropanoid Teupolioside, also known as laumiuside A, is a secondary metabolite produced by the Ajuga Reptans plant when it needs to defend itself, especially from UV rays. It is a molecule with great antioxidant and anti-inflammatory power. The main therapeutic actions recognized to Ajuga Reptans are to be traced back to the treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia, Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH), Crohn's disease and microcirculatory diseases
Nettle (high titration of Betasitosterols) dry extract (DNA certified): The roots of Nettle (Urtica Dioica) contain phytosterols such as Betasitosterin, capable of effectively inhibiting the formation of dihydrotestosterone. Betasitosterin can also boast a marked anti-inflammatory, remineralizing and markedly antioxidant action.
Phillantus niruri, dry extract: Stigmasterol Glucoside dry extract with high titration. Several clinical studies * attest that Fillanto is the most powerful inhibitor of 5 alpha reductase among the various extracts obtained from plants of the euphorbiacee family. The anti Dht activity was tested both in vitro and in vivo. The active content in the Phylanthus to which the anti Dht effect is due is the Stigmasterol Glucoside, which is able to inhibit about 50% of the Dht (with a dosage of 27.2 microM).

The phenolic compounds of Epilobium are mainly responsible for the scavenger capacity, i.e. neutralization of free radicals.
