Mellin 2 Powder - Follow-on Milk

Important
Breast milk is the ideal food for the infant and is recommended as an exclusive food up to the 6th month and as a milky component of a balanced diet during weaning and also after the year of life. If it is missing or insufficient, a follow-on milk can be used only on the advice of the pediatrician. Mellin 2 is indicated after the 6th month and should not be used as a substitute for breast milk in the first 6 months of life and is intended as part of a diversified diet. The start of weaning must only take place following the instructions of the pediatrician.
How to prepare
- Before preparation make sure that the environment in which you are working is clean. Wash and dry your hands well.
- Wash and rinse the bottle, the teat and the ring well.
- Sterilize bottle, teat and ring. If you don't have a sterilizer available, boil them in water. Keep the pot and the sterilized objects closed with the lid until the moment of use. Be careful when handling objects if they are hot.
- Boil the quantity of drinking water required for reconstitution of the product in a clean container and allow it to cool.
- Pour the lukewarm water into the sterilized bottle following the instructions given in the average feeding table.
- Add the measurements of the powder according to the indications of the average feeding table using only the measuring cup contained in the package.
- Close the bottle and shake it to dissolve the powder.
- Once the product is ready, test the temperature on the pulse, about 40 °, and administer to the infant. Consume within half an hour of preparation.
How to store
Store in a dry place away from heat sources. Once opened, the package must be closed correctly and stored in a cool and dry place (not in the refrigerator); the product must be consumed within one month of opening. It is recommended to prepare milk only at the time of the meal and to consume it within two hours. Do not heat or boil the milk once it has been prepared. Do not reuse any leftover milk. Use only the measuring cup contained in the package.
